The proposal involves the design of a blood station in the city of Kastoria. The building is divided into two floors, ground floor and basement. On level 1 the surgery, the blood donation room, a small storage room, waiting room and toilets and WC for disabled are placed. On level 0 offices, a small warehouse and restrooms are located. In the basement a multipurpose room and restrooms are designed. The exterior was formed incrementally so that it can host outdoor events and able to integrate with the multi room use underground.
The design took into account the local climatic characteristics. So the North, West and East facades are “sealed” and only to South one is transparent to ensure the necessary lighting and evaporation of the building. The aim of the design was to create a landmark for the region.
The personal involvement was primarily the preparation of plans.
