A 3 volume residence can comprise the basis for a complex of various ones to be created.
The initial unit and its variations
e purpose of this project was to design a small residence for two with a space for an office. The dimensions of the site are 8.5 m x 15m and all the functional needs should be delivered within this small oblong floor plan. As a result the residence evolves within different cubical volumes. The light enters the space mainly indirectly through the glass volume that houses the staircase.
Each volume is used to house different functions. One of the two bigger volumes is for the more “public” spaces of the residence, whereas the other one for the more “private”. The third volume is used as an office and the glass one houses the vertical circulation of the residents. The design of the residence is such so as to provide multiple volumetric options by rearranging the synthesis of them and create a neighborhood based on the initial main pattern of the three volumes.
